Silverstone Classic 2016
The Silverstone Classic 2016 was once again a great day out for any car enthusiast!
A complete contrast from the very wet Classic last year, where we saw more pictures of Richard's goat mascot on his radiator cap, (looking rather drowned and miserable).
This year however, the sun was out, the Bentley Drivers Club stand was looking impressive, and the cars were sounding even better!
It was great to see some familiar faces in the line up on the club stand. The weekend really didn't disappoint and broke all expected visitor numbers, proving that the Classic really is one of the most popular classic car shows.
Apparently there were over 10,000 privately owned classics cars on display on the infield, and this year the event hosted its first Concours d’Elegance. As usual (to break up the racing), there was a steady flow of car club parades, giving owners a chance to drive their beautiful classics on the track. This year saw the Porsche Owners Club dominate the infield with an impressive turn out of Porsches from all eras' and with over 200 cars taking part, the parade was certainly an impressive one.
We were very impressed by EBAY's LIVE RESTORATION stand. They demonstrated some real-time restoration and for those who aren't lucky enough to work with these projects every day, it provided valuable insight into what happens behind the shutters.
We enjoyed our three days spent on the BDC stand and it is always a pleasure to be able to talk to so many interested and passionate car enthusiasts about our passions for vintage Bentley's and classic cars.
